ANSI C29.5.

pins are recommended for use with those insulators . the cantilever
strength test shall also be conducted with lead head pins .
because lead is soft , it will not hurt the porcelain thread .
the pin type insulator top are with semi-conductive glaze.
the insulator thread hole also covered with semi-conductive glaze .
